Quality Texas Foundation Recognizes Heart Hospital

Baylor Jack and Jane Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital Earns Top Award

Baylor Jack and Jane Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital (BHVH) is a 2014 recipient of the Texas Award for Performance Excellence (TAPE) from the Quality Texas Foundation, a non-profit Texas corporation that administers the Texas Award for Performance Excellence.

Patterned after the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award criteria and process, the Texas Award for Performance Excellence is an annual recognition of Texas organizations that have achieved performance excellence and applied outstanding quality principles in their day-to-day operations. The award is presented to organizations that serve as role models for quality, customer satisfaction and performance excellence in the state of Texas.

"This is a tremendous accomplishment for our hospital to have our devoted team of providers in care recognized for the exemplary work they put in day in and day out. We have taken a collaborative approach to providing quality patient care. Our team and the physicians on the medical staff have worked seamlessly together to provide our patients with quality care," says Nancy Vish, president and chief nursing officer, Baylor Heart and Vascular Hospital. "The next step on our journey will be the pursuit of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. I am confident that with this team, we can accomplish anything."

As part of the award process, BHVH was thoroughly examined, including site surveys and numerous reports on all levels of operations.

Past Baylor Health Care System TAPE award recipients include:

  • 2012 Baylor Medical Center at Waxahachie
  • 2011 Baylor Medical Center at Irving
  • 2010 Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano
