North Texas 16-Year-old Makenzie Wethington talked to the media for the first time since her skydiving accident during a news conference on February 13, 2014.

Feb. 5, 2014 - Harlem Globetrotters Star Visits Makenzie

Harlem Globetrotters star Bull Bullard granted the wish of Makenzie Wethington, the 16-year old who survived a skydiving accident when her parachute didn't fully open.

While rehabbing at Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation in Dallas, Makenzie's family posted on social media about Makenzie's disappointment over missing the Globetrotters' game in Dallas (Feb. 1) because of her injuries. And she wished to meet the team.

Bull rescheduled a flight on Wednesday, Feb. 5, and spent time with Makenzie and her family. Makenzie, who is walking again, traded stories with the Globetrotter. Bull had his own scare recently when a hoop crashed on him in Honduras (http://youtu.be/jgEW2_lJY6E).

Feb. 1, 2014 - Statement from the Family

A statement from the family of Makenzie Wethington, a patient admitted to Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation in Dallas on January 31 injured after a skydiving accident early last week:

"Makenzie Wethington and her family have expressed their sincere appreciation for everyone's interest and support. Makenzie had a good first day of physical therapy and her mother, Holly, said she is very proud of her. The family is continuing to get settled and plans to share more information as Makenzie progresses."
