MEDIA ALERT: Baylor Scott & White Health Employees to be Honored With Award From Texas Department of Public Safety

WHAT: Baylor Scott & White Health employees Richard Peters and Hayley Deis will be given an award by Steve McGraw, director of the Texas Department of Public Safety, "in recognition of their timely actions and selfless dedication to another human being."

WHEN: 2:30 p.m., Friday, March 28, 2014.

WHERE: Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas, 17th Floor of Roberts Hospital

BACKGROUND: After visiting family on Thanksgiving, Peters and Deis were headed south on Highway 290 just outside Brenham, Texas, when they noticed a car off the road and an man on the ground. The pair pulled on to the shoulder and Deis ran to take over CPR efforts being done to try and save the man's life. Peters later assisted making a call to the man's family.
