Baylor Medical Center at Waxahachie to Become Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Waxahachie

Baylor Scott & White Health, the organization formed from the recent merger between Baylor Health Care System and Scott & White Healthcare, announces the new medical campus being constructed in Waxahachie will be one of the first to carry the new organization's name. The facility, which will be named Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Waxahachie, is set to be complete in December 2014.

"With this new campus, we honor our 100-year history of caring for the Ellis County community and commit to continue providing quality health care into the future."

As the construction of the new hospital continues on at the intersection of I-35E and Highway 287, medical care is being provided for current patients at Baylor Medical Center at Waxahachie, located at 1405 W. Jefferson. The new $175.5 million hospital is initially designed to accommodate 129 beds with future growth capabilities and will include a six-story hospital bed tower. The campus is being constructed in accordance with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED, certification guidelines.
