Blog Follows Story of Family Treated at Our Children’s House at Baylor
The story of one of our littlest patients is getting national attention. Daddy blogger Rick Smith is raising awareness about Down Syndrome on his blog NoahsDad.com, a video and picture blog about his son Noah who was born with Down syndrome. Regular blog posts follow Noah’s pediatric therapy sessions at Our Children's House at Baylor (OCH).
Noah's dad writes, "We created this website to tell the story of our son Noah's life via daily one minute videos. We wanted to give the world a look into what life is liking raising a child born with Down syndrome and thought video would be a great way to do it."
Post Goes Viral: Target Is ‘Down’ With Down SyndromeOne recent blog post praised a Target ad featuring a child model with Down syndrome and is getting national attention. The story of the Target ad as well as the NoahsDad post has gone viral, spreading through the media and resulting in the post receiving more than 18,000 Facebook likes, more than 3,200 tweets and 280 comments.
"I hope this exposure shows parents how much Noah's therapy is a part of our life. Not just during his 4 weekly 30 minute appointments, but every day of our life. It's important and we are intentional about it. I hope parents worldwide see how important therapy is to their child's development. They owe it to their children to give them resources to grow and develop."

In the blog, Noah's Dad often shares his son's milestones thru videos of physical therapy sessions at OCH. He even shares exercises to help other parents of children with Down syndrome.
