Press Ganey Honors Nation’s Leading Health Care Organizations

Five Baylor Facilities Named 2012 Summit® Award Winners for Outstanding Performance

Five Baylor Health Care System hospitals are Press Ganey 2012 Summit Award ® winners. The Summit Award, one of Press Ganey’s most prestigious, recognizes hospitals for their innovative approach to leadership, organizational change and commitment to raising the bar when it comes to customer service.

The five Baylor facilities included in this year’s group of winners in the “Patient Satisfaction – Inpatient” category were:

  • Baylor Jack and Jane Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital 2
  • Baylor Medical Center at Frisco 2
  • Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano 1
  • THE HEART HOSPITAL Baylor Plano 2
  • North Central Surgical Center 2

THE HEART HOSPITAL Baylor Plano also received a Summit Award® for emergency department satisfaction.

“This honor confirms the steadfast commitment these hospitals have to role model excellence for patients and families on a daily basis. Congratulations to all on this extraordinary accomplishment,” says Terri Nuss, Vice President of Office of Patient Centeredness, Baylor Health Care System.

Press Ganey provides services to more than 10,000 health care organizations – including 50 percent of U.S. hospitals – to track patient satisfaction scores and improve the health care experience. The honor is awarded to hospitals that have ranked in the 95th percentile or above in patient satisfaction for a minimum of three consecutive years.

“Recipients of the Summit Award truly set themselves apart from the competition by demonstrating their dedication to improvement and sustaining excellence in both quality of care and patient satisfaction,” reads the award description.

The awards program recognizes outstanding levels of achievement sustained over time for both satisfaction – patient, physician and employee – as well as clinical core measures. Award winners were announced and recognized during the awards lunch at Press Ganey’s National Client Conference in National Harbor, Md., November. 12-14.
