Baylor Medical Center at Irving Offers Behavioral Health Inpatient Services for Seniors Ages 65 and Older

Baylor Medical Center at Irving now offers a comprehensive plan to meet both the mental and physical needs of seniors with the opening of the new Baylor Behavioral Health Senior Care. Managed by Telecare Corporation, the unit provides short-term inpatient services for adults age 65 and older who are experiencing a mental health crisis. This 11-bed unit is recovery-centered in its approach and offers specialized medical care to help older adults and their family transition back into the home environment.

Baylor Behavioral Health Senior Care will provide short-term (7-14 days) inpatient services in tandem with Baylor Irving hospital services to address both mental and physical health needs simultaneously and cohesively. A multi-disciplinary, specialized team will be providing services including, medication management, rehabilitation support, diagnosis and assessment, individual and family therapy, occupational therapy, and discharge planning.
